Technology Spotlight: Ford Sync

Ford Sync
In the 21st Century, in-vehicle infotainment technology is an absolute must-have. Ford may very well have the best system on the market with Ford SYNC®, which is available in three iterations in Ford’s new model year lineup.

There’s SYNC and SYNC® with MyFord, which comes standard on most 2015 – 2016 models. SYNC with MyFord allows you to make hands-free calls, utilize voice commands to play music and open apps through SYNC AppLink®, and stay in-tune with the world around you without forcing you to take your eyes off the road for any extended period of time.

This capability is enhanced with SYNC with MyFord Touch, which adds a four-quadrant touchscreen on the center stack that makes interacting with apps, music, communication, and navigation even easier. SYNC with MyFord Touch is available for most 2015 model year vehicles and the 2016 Explorer, Fusion, and Super Duty.

The latest and greatest form of Ford in-vehicle infotainment is Ford SYNC 3, which offers all the features of SYNC with MyFord Touch along with an improved interface and new features and capabilities such as Siri® Seamless Integration and automatic updating via Wi-Fi. SYNC 3 is available only for new 2016 models, including the Fiesta, Focus, C-MAX, Escape, Expedition, Mustang, and Transit.
